I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
